Curiosities is a solo exhibition of illustration, paintings, etchings and screen
prints by emerging local artist Ania Gareeva.
The exhibition runs from Wednesday 17th October to Saturday 10th of November.

A little bit about Ania…
“Ania, a nineteen year old art student at SCA, was born and spent her childhood
in Russia. Through symbols, references and allusions, her historical background
constantly feeds into her art, which becomes a transmutation of personal and
cultural contexts. Influences include Soviet film, Russian literature, family
photographs and memories…
Ania’s work is largely preoccupied with experimentation in colour and the
emotional potential present within highly saturated, deep and vivid colours.
Simultaneously, Ania is concerned with representing something peculiar,
bizarre and unconventional, yet equally captivating and perhaps enigmatic.”
